No serious progress to occur without settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh problem - Turkish PM (UPDATE)

Azerbaijan, Baku, October 11 / Trend /

Serious progress is not expected to take place without settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh problem, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, CNN Turk channel reported.

"We keep promise given to Azerbaijan. Armenia must observe norms of the world law. Turkey will not be able to give positive response on Turkey-Armenia relations till Azerbaijani lands are released," Erdogan said.

"Settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict can improve Turkey-Armenia relations," he said.

"The Turkish Parliament has the last word in normalization of Turkey-Armenia relations," Erdogan said.

Prime Minister also said that signing of protocols is a very important action.

"I personally sent a letter to the Armenian government with a proposal to normalize Turkey-Armenia relations in 2005. But there was no response. Despite it, Turkey took many actions for Armenia, namely, allowing Armenian planes to land in Turkey and easing visa regime for Armenian citizens," he said.
