Turkish President Abdullah Gul said here on Saturday that his country is keen to bolster relations with neighboring Iran, IRNA reported.
Speaking at the opening session of the standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), he said relation between Iran and Turkey is based on the principles of non-interference in domestic affairs of each other, good neighborly bonds and security cooperation.
He added that Turkey is willing to expand two-way relations in all fields notably in economic and commercial affairs.
On the Iranian nuclear issue, Abdullah Gul said the only way out of the current situation is through diplomatic channels and negotiations, noting that in today's world dialogue should be the most important means for resolving international problems. He also urged Islamic countries to show greater coherence in order to weaken the globalization consequences and changing them into opportunities.
The gathering in its 25th year of foundation is hosting for the first time a number of chiefs of state including the Iranian president who will visit Turkey on Nov 8. The Iranian president will deliver a speech on ""Development of relations among the OIC member-countries and the global financial crisis.
