Turkish President Meets Israeli Counterpart

Turkey's President Abdullah Gul said on Friday that the incidents happening in the Middle East were creating serious sensitivity and uneasiness, Anadolu Agency reported.

Gul met with Israeli President Shimon Peres in Copenhagen where he visits to attend the closing session of the summit of the heads of state and government of the 15th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP15).

The two leaders discussed Israel's new settlement units.

Gul said, "nothing remains veiled in the world any more. Everybody learns about everything instantly. Turkish public opinion is also closely following the incidents in the Middle East. These incidents are creating serious sensitivity and uneasiness."

He said that Turkey wanted the two states (Israel and Palestine) to live side by side in peace, tranquility and security.

Meanwhile, Peres repeated his invitation to Gul to Israel.
