The Turkish foreign minister left for Kazakhstan on Wednesday, Anadolu Agency reported.
Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will be the guest of Kazakh Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev during his visit to this country.
This will be Davutoglu's first visit to Kazakhstan as the foreign minister of Turkey.
"Central Asia is one of the most important strategic factors of Turkish foreign policy," Davutoglu told reporters at Ankara's Esenboga Airport before flying to Kazakhstan.
Davutoglu said Turkey was determined to boost its relations with this region in coming months.
The foreign minister said Kazakhstan had assumed the rotating presidency of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in 2010, and Turkey would become the rotating president of the Conference on Cooperation and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
Davutoglu said Turkey would undertake the rotating presidency of the Council of Europe (COE) as of November, and also said two countries would chair the most important security organizations of Europe and Asia for a year.
"I am planning to visit other Central Asian republics later because this is a geography with which we have cultural ties not only neighborly relations," he said.
Davutoglu said Turkey had a strong political will to support all efforts aiming to restore peace and stability in the Caucasus.
Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev will receive Davutoglu, who will also meet Kazakh Senate's Chairman Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov, and Foreign Minister Saudabayev.
Minister Davutoglu will discuss bilateral relations, as well as regional and international issues and developments, during his talks with Kazakh executives.
Davutoglu is expected to return to Turkey on February 12.
Kazakh President Nazarbayev visited Turkey in October 2009.
