Turkey has chosen preventive punishment towards 102 militaries within the investigation on Balyoz (Sledgehammer) coup plot.
Court issued arrest warrants for 102 suspects of 196 militaries, who are on duty or retired, CNN Turk reported. Former Air Force commander, retired Army General Ibrahim Firtina, former commander of the Navy, retired Army Admiral Ozden Ornek, former commander of the First Army, retired Army General Cetin Dogan are among them. These persons were previously arrested, but on the court's decision during the investigation they were released.
Some 52 of 102 militaries are generals.
