Arrest warrants were issued here on Friday for 102 suspects of the Balyoz (Sledgehammer) coup plot, according to a report by the Anatolia news agency.
The report said that Istanbul's 10th Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for the suspects of the ongoing "Balyoz Plan Case", Xinhua reported
The Balyoz plan uncovered earlier in the year was allegedly a plan by the military to foster civil unrest via violent methods to destabilize the country and pave the way for military coup.
There have been ongoing investigations and interrogations by Istanbul courts since the plan was uncovered by the liberal Taraf daily.
The Istanbul court has decided the first trial will take place on Dec. 16 at the Silivri Department of Corrections Compound in the suburbs of Istanbul.
