Six killed while six others were injured on Monday after tornado struck a construction site in central Turkish province of Elazıg, Today's Zaman reported.
The construction site sustained significant damage in the outbreak as it skipped through the area, tossing container where workers live into a tractor and several other vehicles, killing four people in the scene.
Elazıg Governor Muammer Erol said there were 12 people inside the container when the incident took place. He added that two injured workers out of total eight who were taken to hospitals died.
Erol said they have received reports of collapse of houses from Elazıg villages but he said their survey revealed no such significant damages to houses and buildings. He confirmed that nobody was killed and no house collapsed in the area yet there were some damages in the province.
Ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Elazıg deputy Suay Alpay also came to the area to investigate the deadly incident.
