A Damascus-bound civilian plane, suspected of carrying arms, was forced to land at Ankara airport on Wednesday, Today's Zaman reported.
Turkey scrambled F-16 fighter jets after the plane, which took off from Moscow, entered into Turkey's airspace and forced it to land in Ankara's Esenboğa airport.
Turkey has started inspecting the plane late on Wednesday, which was carrying 35 passengers from Moscow.
