Albanian Foreign Minister Edmond Panariti said that the friendship between Turkey and Albania was crucial, Anadolu Agency reported.
Speaking at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu following a tete-a-tete meeting in Istanbul, Panariti stressed that "the deep, historic and good relations between Turkey and Albania had to be a model to other countries".
"Our two countries want to further develop relations," Panariti stated.
"We have very important economic relations. The number of Turkish investments in our country has increased enormously. Turkey is the third country with most investments in Albania and
Turkey could become the number one country in this context. Turkish investors will receive all possible assistance in Albania. We have good relations in the field of education as well.
Albanian language departments in Turkish universities are important. Turkish educational institutions in Albania receive high respect," Panariti said.
We thank Turkey for their assistance to Kosovo in their independence process and to Albania in all fields, Panariti also said.
