The assailants threw Molotov cocktails at the school located in Sugecer, a village in the Ozalp district, rendering two classrooms and the principal's room unusable. They then fled the scene, leaving a note on the wall of the school saying "fair education or none."
The attack caused a fire which was extinguished by the villagers. Classes were suspended for the rest of the day.
The same group of assailants set fire to another school on Sunday in the same province, leaving several classrooms and the teachers' room unusable.
Over the past two weeks, PKK militants have set more than 20 schools on fire in southeastern provinces.
The PKK has consistently said that it sees educational institutions as an instrument of assimilation, and damaging schools, according to the group, promotes its demand for Kurdish-language education in predominantly Kurdish provinces.
