The Turkish parliament will be recalled next Wednesday for an emergency meeting to debate the charges against four former ministers who resigned in the wake of the December 17 corruption investigations, Turkey's parliament speaker Cemil Cicek announced on Friday Anadoly Agency reported.

Two of Turkey's opposition parties united behind main opposition party (CHP) this week to gather the required number of signatures to force parliament to break the recess, which was due to be in place till after local elections, on March 30.

The summaries of the charges will be read out in the general assembly then the Turkish deputies will vote by secret ballot on whether to set-up a commission of inquiry within the Turkish Parliament.

The commission members will then decide on whether there should be judicial proceedings. Their decision must be approved by the general assembly.

Cicek also emphasized that he, as parliament speaker, must comply with the penal procedure code and the law.

Referring to the summaries of the charges sent by the prosecutors, Cicek said at a press conference in the parliament that this is a judiciary proceeding, and stressing, "The case should be considered according to penal procedure code."
