![]() The Armenian Constitutional Court's changes to the Armenian-Turkish protocols are contrary to their spirit, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who is on visit to London, was quoted as saying by the Turkish Anadolu news agency. Submission of the protocols on normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations to the Constitutional Court is Armenia's private matter and Turkey respects it, he said. However Davutoglu noted that the changes that were made by the Constitutional Court, contrary to the spirit of the protocols signed by the foreign ministers of Armenia and Turkey in Zurich in October. The protocols will enter into force after ratification by the two countries' parliaments. Davutoglu discussed this issue and stated Ankara's position towards the changes at the meeting with his Armenian Counterpart Edward Nalbandian in London. The Armenian Constitutional Court has amended the text of the protocol and based on the court's decision, ratification of the signed protocols is possible. However, the court found unacceptable the creation of a joint commission to investigate the 1915 events. "Concur of process of normalizing relations with Armenia with our views is important for Turkey. Turkey is confident that taken steps are correct and does not attach much importance to the obstacles and criticism of the opposite side," he added. See Also:
