Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan will visit Istanbul February 4-5 to participate in the working meeting of the Defense Ministers of the countries contributing to the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (ISAF), Public Radio of Armenia reported.
The meeting will be attended also by the Defense Minister of Afghanistan, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in Afghanistan, the EU High Commissioner for Common Defense and Security Policy.
During the meeting reference will be made to the transit strategy for Afghanistan, the formation of security forces of Afghanistan, improvement of government institutions, and Afghanistan's cooperation with neighbors.
Within the framework of the visit the Armenian Defense Minister will meet his counterparts and will visit the Armenian Patriarchate of Istanbul.
