Armenian presidential candidate Aram Harutyunyan has called on parliamentary groups to boycott the next session of Parliament and cease parliamentary activities for three months allowing a new parliament to be formed according to the people's will, the 7or.am agency said.
"If the opposition cannot be bothered to discuss any questions in the National Assembly, why should they take part in its work? For a service car and a secretary?" head of the National Accord Party said during a press conference.
He also said he would not change his decision to withdraw his nomination on February 8.
Harutyunyan said that being left alone Serzh Sargsyan will be pushed to take particular steps.
He added that an unprecedented situation has been formed in Armenia and the authorities have crossed all boundaries.
The sixth Armenian presidential election will be held on Feb. 18 from 08:00 to 20:00 local time. The head of state is elected for five years.
Those running for the presidency are the incumbent president and ruling Republican Party leader Serzh Sargsyan, former Prime Minister Grant Bagratyan, chairman of the Heritage Party Raffi Hovhannisyan, head of the Liberty Party Paruyr Hayrikyan, Arman Melikyan, Andreas Ghukasyan, Vardan Setrakian and the leader of the National Accord Party Aram Harutyunyan.
