A pre-election meeting of Armenia's presidential candidate, incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan with voters recently took place in Armavir, 7or.am reported.
An incident occurred during the meeting just as the previous ones.
The event was held at the central square of city of Armavir, Zhogovurd newspaper reported. During Sargsyan's speech, the mother of dead serviceman Nona Mouradian held a portrait of her son and shouted: "This is secure Armenia, where soldiers are killed"
Throughout Sargsyan's speech, the mother of the deceased soldier kept shouting and spoke about what happened to her son, but the president continued his speech, drowning her voice with a microphone. At the end he did not even come up to the woman to find out the cause of her protest.
The sixth Armenian presidential election will be held Feb.18 from 08:00 to 20:00 local time. The head of state is elected for five years.
Those running for the presidency are the incumbent president and ruling Republican Party leader Serzh Sargsyan, former Prime Minister Grant Bagratyan, chairman of the Heritage Party Raffi Hovhannisyan, Paruyr Hayrikyan, Arman Melikyan, Andrias Ghukasyan, Vardan Setrakyan and the leader of the National Accord Party Aram Harutyunyan.
