Protests, which began several days ago, are continuing in front of the Yerevan municipal building. Its participants demand the resignation of Mayor Taron Margaryan and other officials, News.am reported.
The building of the municipality is guarded by police. In order drive the participants of the protest away from the municipality, the property is periodically watered and this denies protestors the opportunity to lie on the lawn.
The activists have already appealed to the Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan, stating that, if the watering of the lawn is not stopped and the protestors are not provided with the right to freely express their demands, the participants of the action will have to sit directly on the street and make movement difficult.
"These two officials carry an absolute responsibility for such a move," the activists stated. .
The protests are related to the price hike in public transport from July 20. The decision has been suspended since July 25, however the protest continues.
