A number of high-ranking EU officials will arrive in Yerevan for the third meeting of Informal Eastern Partnership Dialogue, which will be held on September 13, Armenia Today reported.
These high-ranking officials include: the European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth Androulla Vassiliou, the Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service, Helga Schmid.
The Informal Dialogue brings together ministers and officials of the major countries of the Eastern Partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine).
Fule and Schmid, who represent the EU High Representative, Catherine Ashton, will take part in the session of the dialogue with the foreign ministers. In addition to the topics of the Eastern Partnership and the situation in the region, other topics of general interest in foreign policy, including Iran, Syria and Egypt will be discussed.
The Informal Dialogue meetings serve for the preparation for the Third Summit of the Eastern Partnership, which will be held on November 28-29 in Vilnius. The meetings are held twice a year.
