Negative impact on relations with Ukraine if Armenia recognizes Crimea’s independence

If Armenia recognizes Crimea as an independent republic, it will have very negative consequences for the Ukrainian- Armenian relations, Deputy Foreign Minister Danylo Lubkivskyy said at the briefing on March 21, UNN reported.

"We have already sent an official note to Armenia to clarify its official position on Crimea," he added. "We expressed our concern at the Armenian side's statement on recognizing the independence of Crimea. We appeal to Armenia officially for it not to recognize the annexation of Crimea. We expect such an answer. If this is not so, it will have a negative impact on the Ukrainian- Armenian relations."

As for the journalists' question about Ukraine's plans of terminating the diplomatic relations with Armenia, if it recognizes the annexation of Crimea, he replied that a range of measures would be taken.
