In the near future, Azerbaijan is expected to adopt a national strategy on intellectual property for 2011-2014, the Azerbaijani Copyright Agency told Trend on Saturday.
"The draft strategy is under the final consideration at the Cabinet of Ministers. Following the appropriate corrections, it can be adopted in the near future," the agency said.
The strategy reflects problems in the field of intellectual property, including methods to combat the production and sale of counterfeit products, etc. The strategy defined 30 targeted areas combining about 90 specific activities.
Azerbaijan may become one of the first countries adopting a long-term national strategy on the intellectual property in the world.
