The ties between Azerbaijan and Russia are so advanced, that they do not require any special meetings or visits, Rossotrudnichestvo official Konstantin Kosachev said.
"As a President's Special Envoy for CIS I make my trips abroad to the States of the Commonwealth, and Azerbaijan is one of our absolute priorities" Kosachev said in Baku on Thursday.
According to him, Azerbaijan - a country where there is a huge layer of overlapping interests in economic, political and humanitarian spheres.
"It is the humanitarian sphere that may be the key to solve the economic and political problems, in many cases, which aren't much between Azerbaijan and Russia," Kosachev said.
Kosachev noted that there are many Russian compatriots in Azerbaijan, who need attention from their historic homeland, "but it is fortunately the case when this support doesn't have an emergency nature."
"The situation with Russian compatriots in Azerbaijan, including the Russian language is much more favorable than in many other CIS countries," he concluded.
