Azerbaijani primary provider company Delta Telecom has begun to transfer its network infrastructure 100G technology, the company told Trend on Friday.
The company reported that the transition of Delta Telecom's network infrastructure to a 100G level across the country is expected by late 2013.
A 100G network will provide corporate and individual customers a wider bandwidth capable of providing current and future demands for data transmission.
Currently, the company is working on the installation of new equipment, which will provide a reliable delivery of high speed IP services at 100 gigabits/second across the country.
The total number of ports in the company's network in the regions exceeds 30,000 which cover all the regional centres.
Previously, Delta Telecom launched the IP/MPLS (InternetProtocol/Multi-Protocol Label Switching) multi-service network for the state bodies of Azerbaijan.
IP/MPLS network which was created in the AzStateNet network by order of the Special State Protection Service (SSPS) of Azerbaijan is designed to facilitate the exchange of information between government bodies and become one of the important stages in the construction of e-government, which is implemented under the Electronic Azerbaijan state programme.
The necessary conditions have been created for connecting all state bodies of Azerbaijan to this network including their regional offices. The infrastructure allows connecting government bodies to corporate networks, as well as significantly improving the quality and reliability of exchange of information and electronic documents between them. As part of this project, thousands of Ethernet-ports over IP/MPLS network were commissioned under SSPS supervision.
