A joint inter-governmental commission was established between Azerbaijan and Belarus a year ago, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Monday during a meeting with heads of media outlets of CIS countries.
Lukashenko was responding to Trend news agency's question about cooperation prospects within the CIS.
According to him, this format works effectively as the leaders of the countries are controlling the work. Belarus and Azerbaijan are establishing relations when new areas of cooperation appear over time.
According to Lukashenko, Minsk is developing military- technical cooperation with Baku.
"We will discuss issues of military- technical cooperation and cooperation in the energy sector during my visit to Baku in the near future," Lukashenko added.
According to the President, Belarus has no closed topics with Azerbaijan.
Lukashenko congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the election and President Aliyev on his victory.
Lukashenko has today met with heads of the media outlets of the CIS countries. Editor-in-chief of Trend news agency Pasha Kesamanski also attended the meeting.
The meeting is being held on the eve of the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of States, to be held in Minsk on October 25 and will be a key event of Belarus's chairmanship in the Commonwealth.
