Azerbaijan, U.S discuss cooperation prospects in ICT

Cooperation prospects between Azerbaijan and the Silicon Valley were discussed in San Jose (California, USA), the US- Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (USACC) said on Thursday.

These issues were discussed within the workshop for Silicon Valley companies focused on cooperation prospects with Azerbaijan in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT).

The workshop was organized within the USACC upcoming trade mission to Azerbaijan on December 2-5. The main objectives of the workshop were to analyze and to assess the prospects of the rapidly developing ICT market in Azerbaijan, as well as to attract U.S. companies operating in Silicon Valley to participate in this market development in the country.

According to the report, USACC executive director Susan Sadigova and commercial counselor Elshan Baloglanov presented their vision based on examining the major regional projects initiated by Azerbaijan. USACC Executive Director informed the audience about such large Azerbaijani projects as the construction of high-tech park, Trans-Eurasian Information Super Highway (TASIM), the launch of the Azerbaijani first satellite Azerspace-1 and others.

Sadigova also spoke about IT-market developments in Azerbaijan.

Sadigova urged U.S leading companies in this sphere to take part in the XIX International Exhibition BakuTel- 2013 (December 2-5).

Sadigova stressed that the participation in the exhibition will provide an opportunity to present products and services of the companies on one of the fastest-growing international markets.

Representatives of IT-companies considered a USACC position as a platform for expanding the cooperation, exchanging the resources and mutually beneficial cooperation.
