By Huseyn Valiyev - Trend:

Azerbaijani postal operator Azerpost LLC has launched an SMS notification system for informing citizens about the delivery of their parcels, the postal operator's Deputy Director General Nazim Suleymanov told Trend on Nov. 29.

With the introduction of the new service the customers will no longer have to control delivery of parcels to the post office. They will be informed about the delivery via SMS.

Suleymanov said a notification is formed when the parcel arrives, but frequently it comes to the recipient with a delay.

"But today an SMS, showing the postal office's address, is sent to the customer upon receipt of the parcel. Customers need to indicate their mobile phone numbers upon purchase of goods via electronic commerce portals, in order to be able to use this system," Suleymanov said.

Mobile number is entered into the database of the postal operator, and then a notification is sent to the customer.
