The issues related to contemporary media outlets will be discussed in the next St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the organizers of the event said on May 21.

The discussions will be held during the session on the theme entitled 'The media today: global trends of transformation and prospects'.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is held under the patronage of Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss topical issues facing Russia and the international community in general.

Over 5,000 representatives of political and business circles, leading scientists, media and public representatives from all over the world will attend the May22 to May 24 forum.

As many as 40 heads of the world's leading media outlets and news agencies, including Trend Agency, have been invited to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

During the forum, there will be a conference with participation of the heads of world media and news agencies at the initiative of Russia's ITAR-TASS news agency.
