Prices for internet services in Azerbaijan directly depend by 70 percent on internet service providers, Delta Telecom told Trend on May 29.

Delta Telecom said it is not considered as a key party in the formation of Internet market tariffs.

Delta Telecom accounts for 30 percent of total market revenues and the remainder comes from government and other private providers.

"Internet service providers buy one megabit of traffic from the primary provider for 15 manats. Providers divide this traffic volume at least into 10 parts. Service rendered to one user costs 1.5 manats for the provider paid to Delta Telecom. We are not talking about costs that providers carry in telecommunication nodes of operators," the company said.

The core of the problem is not the cost of internet traffic entering the country. In this regard, prices are low, as exemplified by interest of the key operators of the regional countries to purchase traffic from "Delta Telecom". Currently, Delta Telecom sells capacity to Georgian, Iranian and Iraqi providers.

Official course composes 0.7844 AZN/USD on May 29.
