Georgian weather forecasters predicts the hottest day on Thursday, June 14 since 1966.
As the Hydrometeorological Service said, in Western Georgia, the heat will reach over 40 degrees, which has not been observed since the last century.
Temperature in Eastern Georgia will also reach forty-degree heat today.
According to forecasters, the highest temperature - 39 degrees in eastern Georgia was recorded in Tbilisi in 1922, on June 18. While in Western Georgia, in Kobuleti 41 degrees was observed in 1966 - June 4.
With regard to low summer temperature, then in Eastern Georgia it was recorded in Tbilisi in 1967, on June 4 - thermometer showed 14 degrees in the afternoon, at night - 6 degrees. The lowest temperature in Western Georgia was recorded in 1967, on June 4 in the afternoon - 16 degrees, at night - 6 degrees.
Meanwhile, weather forecasters promise that it will be slightly cooler on June 16 - rain is expected throughout Georgia on this day.
