Presentation of Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) in Georgia was held in Tbilisi on Wednesday night. Representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora, various denominations, including the Patriarchate of Georgia were brought together in Tbilisi hotel Courtyard Marriott.
Haji Ali Aliyev, who has unofficially been performing the function of the representative of the organization for fifteen years, became the head of CMO in Georgia.
"The establishment of CMO representation in Georgia is a historical fact, especially as because CMO has been existing for more than 200 years and is cooperating with the Patriarchate of Georgia," Aliyev told Trend.
Aliyev stressed that the representation of CMO is cooperating with the newly established Georgian Muslims Office. "The Georgian and Azerbaijani Muslims are brothers and there are no problems in Georgia between Muslims and never will be," he said.
In an interview to Trend Aliyev said that he has been contributing to the construction of more than 100 mosques for the Muslims of Georgia during the 15 years of activity and now there are 200 mosques.
First deputy chairman of CMO Mufti Salman Musaev has arrived in Tbilisi and participated in the presentation. "CMO head Allahshukur Pashazade is a great friend of the Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II and stands for brotherhood and friendship between our peoples.
He always supports the territorial integrity of Georgia. CMO promotes closer cooperation between our nations and is satisfied with friendship and strategic partnership between the presidents of Georgia and Azerbaijan," he said.
Musaev said Allahshukur Pashazade believes that the main task of the spiritual leaders of the two countries is to ensure the spiritual bonding of two nations.
The representative of the Patriarchate of Georgia Melkisedek Khachidze thanked Musayev and all Muslims for kind words. He welcomed the establishment of the representative office in Georgia and expressed willingness to cooperate.
