Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet arrived in Tbilisi today. The main purpose of the visit is to sign an agreement on readmission with Georgia and to discuss Georgia's prospects on the way of European integration and accession to NATO, Paet told media at the airport today.
"We hope that Georgia and the EU will sign an agreement on free trade and a visa-free regime by late 2012 or in 2013," he said. "Estonia is ready to assist Georgia in this issue."
Paet will meet with his Georgian counterpart Grigol Vashadze today.
"We hope that this visit like the previous visits of Estonian Minister will be effective," Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze told media, commenting on the visit of the Estonian Minister. "Paet met with his Georgian counterpart. It is planned to sign an agreement, implement the agreement's protocol between the governments of Georgia and Estonia and a document on those residing without permission between Georgia and the EU."
