By a presidential decree, instead of the Economy Ministry, the Special State Protection Service of Georgia will engage in the state control over the Procurement Agency henceforth.

According to the regulations, the agency's tasks include providing the president in the governmental residence, presidential administration, as well as senior officials with the necessary conditions for their activities that meet international standards; construction, improvement, operation, maintenance, equipment, major repair of assets are transferred to the agency. Also included are the implementation of investment projects, serving foreign government delegations and high-ranking guests arriving in Georgia.

By presidential order dated Oct.5 the decree 'On the creation of a legal entity of public law - the Agency for State Procurement' included amendments based on which state control over the entity, approval of the charter and the appointment of an authorised representative is transferred to the Special State Protection Service.
