Georgia, Tbilisi, Oct. 8 / Trend N. Kirtzkhalia /
Georgia's foreign policy vector will be unchanged, candidate for the post of Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze said at an interview with the media today.
She said that Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration is the choice of the Georgian people.
Panjikidze said that the U.S. remains Georgia's strategic partner and these relations will be further strengthened.
"We must not forget our neighbours," she said. "There must be relations with Russia. It is impossible to resolve a problem for one or two days. Several years may be required. The areas of common interest must be revealed. The operations must begin in this direction. It is impossible to resolve the issue of the country's territorial integrity without establishing relations with Russia, but Russia must know that three embassies and 20 per cent occupied territories cannot exist in Georgia. Restoring integrity is a priority."
The Georgian Dream coalition leader who won the parliamentary elections Bidzina Ivanishvili introduced candidates for ministerial posts in the new Georgian government at the coalition's headquarters in Tbilisi today.
Ivanishvili will take the post of prime minister. He has been working on the consultations on the formation of the new Cabinet of Ministers since October 4.
