Candidate for Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania has familiarized EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule with the Georgian Defense Ministry's new priorities in Tbilisi today.
"The ministry will be transparent," Alasania said. "The civilian control over the army units will be strengthened."
The parties have also discussed the elections and the future relations between Georgia and Europe.
Fule said that the elections in Georgia and the new government team will facilitate the convergence between Europe and Georgia and intensify close cooperation.
Parliamentary elections were held in Georgia on October 1. Around 14 parties and two political blocs participated in the elections.
According to full the preliminary data of the Georgian Central Election Commission, the Georgian Dream coalition received 85 seats in the parliament, and the United National Movement, 65.
The leader of the Georgian Dream coalition has introduced new candidates for ministerial posts in the new Georgian government.
Ivanishvili plans to become prime minister.
