Georgian parliament elected chairmen of 15 parliamentary committees. Under existing regulations, all the posts of chairmen of committees were taken by representatives of the parliamentary majority "Georgian Dream."
Following people became heads of committees: Gigla Abulashvili - committee on agriculture, Eka Beselia - civil integration, Vano Kiguradze - education and science, Zurab Zviadauri - environmental protection and resources, Zurab Tkemaladze - economy sector, Gubaz Sanikidze - committee of diasporas and the Caucasus, Victor Dolidze - European integration, Irakli Sesiashvili - defence and security, legal issues - Vakhtang Khmaladze, Irakli Tripolsky - regional policy, Irina Imerishvili - procedural issues, David Onoprishvili - financial and budget committee, Leri Khabelov - sports and youth affairs and Dmitry Khundadze - health committee.
Committee chairs will have two deputies, one from the majority and one from the minority.
It should be stressed that according to the CEC preliminary data, billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili's "Georgian Dream" coalition will get 85 deputy mandates in the new parliament, while the former ruling party, led by Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will be represented in the legislative body by 65 MPs.
