The relations between the private investor and the employee must be regulated by the Labour Code, candidate for Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili said at a meeting with the parliamentary majority today.
He has commented on the mass strikes in the country.
Ivanishvili added that the strikers' problems are very similar. But he did not expect that the railway men will also strike because he believed that their salaries are more or less normal.
Ivanishvili did not rule out that there was sabotage on the railway.
"Investors have a reaction to the strikes," he said. "They are going to increase the workers' salaries by 30 per cent. In the future, these issues must be regulated by the Labor Code. The legislative amendments will exclude such strikes. But we must take into account the investors' interests."
Several strikes have been recently held in Georgia. The strikers demand to increase salaries and improve working conditions. Chiatura miners, Kobuleti bypass road workers, 'Telasi' (Tbilisi's energy operator) employees, mineral water factory workers in Borjomi and railroad workers are striking.
