David Tsinaridze has been appointed the head of the Georgian Patrol Police, Interior Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
He stressed that Tsinaridze was behind the establishment of the police patrol in 2006, which has a high reputation among the people of Georgia.
"Patrol should perform its duties as it was before, and it's time to come out of the euphoria that swept the people after the victory of Georgian Dream in the parliamentary elections. You have to defend the law and prevent any violation, my support is provided in this field" the minister said, referring to Tsinaridze.
A week ago, Giorgi Grigalashvili left the position of head of the patrol police.
