The Investigation Service of the Georgian Ministry of Finance started checking gold mining companies.
As was mentioned by the head of public relations department of RMG Copper (formerly "Madneuli") and RMG Gold (formerly "Quartzite") Tamar Liluashvili, the Investigative Services representative individually interviewed employees of the companies.
Liluashvili denies reports of financial documentation and computers being taken from the company.
According to her, interviews are held in a relaxed atmosphere, and she doesn't call the ministry's activity pressuring.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri said there were questions concerning the activities of companies producing gold in Georgia.
The audited companies are owned by Kobe Nakopia who is businessman considered close to Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili.
