Georgia, Tbilisi, Jan. 4 / Trend, N.Kirtskhalia /
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia will find out the reasons for refusal of entry of Georgian pilgrims to Israel, said on Friday Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze.
She said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs became interested in the issue after the information appeared in the media.
"We learned about it from the press. No agency, which organizes such visits and takes care of the visas, applied to the Ministry or the Consulate of Georgia in Israel. We don't have any additional information yet" - said Panjikidze.
The minister said the clerics called the alleged reasons of the incident.
"But I do not know if this is true, so I can't say anything about that," - added the Minister.
List of 46 Georgian pilgrims was forwarded to Israeli Interior Ministry for visas, but all of them were rejected.
"Visas for individuals and groups wishing to stay in Israel are issuing in accordance with Israeli law. Embassy of Israel is doing everything to solve this problem," - said the Israeli Embassy in Georgia.
