In April, a meeting of the parliamentary delegations of Georgia and Russia will be held under the framework of PACE, the head of the parliamentary delegation of the Russian delegation to PACE, Alexei Pushkov, told Georgian journalists on Thursday, following an informal meeting with the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Tedo Japaridze, in Strasbourg.
"The meeting was for informational purposes and held in a spirit of mutual understanding. We agreed that we need to take any steps aimed at the rapprochement of our positions," he said.
In turn, Tedo Japaridze stated that so-called "red lines" in relations between the two countries were identified during the meeting. However, we agreed that we need to establish contacts and get acquainted with the positions of the parties within the first stage," he said.
Japaridze and Pushkov have expressed satisfaction with the meeting, noting that such contacts are necessary.
An agreement was reached on the sidelines of the Council of Europe at a random meeting.
