Georgia, Tbilisi, Jan. 30 /Trend N.Kirtskhalia /

Georgian Defence Ministry is not going to close military-industrial enterprise Delta and will not give up production of military equipment and weapons, Georgian Deputy Minister of Defence Zaza Broladze said commenting on the statement of Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili on the possible closure of the enterprise.

Broladze said that earlier work on Lazika and Didgori military combat vehicles was carried out in accordance with the tastes of individual politicians, whereas now the reformed management carries out production in collaboration with professional military instructors and experts.

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili noted that, according to his information, the Defence Ministry holds a discussion on whether Delta enterprise for production of military equipment should operate under the ministry.

The president said it would be a big mistake if Georgia gives up military production, which functions well, as opposed to statements of some politicians.
