Georgian Interior Minister, Irakli Garibashvili is on a working visit to Washington.
The minister met with Assistant Secretary of State Philip Gordon at the U.S. State Department, the Georgian Interior Ministry told Trend on Wednesday.
Both parties discussed the political processes in Georgia and changes introduced by the Interior Ministry and planned reforms.
Garibashvili also visited a counterdrug agency. Issues of mutual cooperation were discussed at the meeting with the agency's director. It was decided to hold three training sessions for staff of the main directorate of the Interior Ministry for combating drugs next year.
A meeting with the FBI director is also planned in the framework of the visit.
The working visit of Irakli Garibashvili to the U.S will end on February 1.
