Georgia, Tbilisi, March 11 / Trend N. Kirtzkhalia /
Georgian former Minister of State Security Valery Khaburdzania returned from Moscow to Tbilisi to lead a pro-Russian movement in the political life of the country. Khaburdzania told the Maestro TV Company live that he is ready to unite the pro-Russian spectrum of Georgian political life.
There is a differentiation of political forces in Georgia and now there are pro-Western, pro-American and pro-Russian forces. There are groups of national orientation. Pro-Russian means conducting coincident Georgian and Russian interests.
"No one rejects Western values. We say that there must be closer relations with Russia and in regional associations," Khaburdzania said.
As President Saakashvili explained, he dismissed Khaburdzania after a meeting when Russian President Vladimir Putin asked him to leave Khaburdzania in his position. Khaburdzania is Putin's former classmate. Saakashvili said that he could not leave an 'agent of Russia's influence' in such a significant position.
