An incident involving firearms took place between the country's former MP for the majority district, Tengiz Jgushia and the Deputy Governor of the Zugdidi administration, Merab Kvaraya in the village of Riki in the Zugdidi region (Samaegrelo region, Western Georgia).
Following a confrontation, Jgushia fired shots at Kvaraya several times, however the latter wasn't injured.
Full details of the conflict haven't yet been determined and an investigation is underway. It is known that as a former MP, Tengiz Jgushia has permission to keep and bear a firearm. Currently, Jgushia heads the Voice of Samegrelo organisation.
