Georgian Defence Minister Irakli Alasania supports the Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili's statement about readiness to begin a direct dialogue with Abkhazians and Ossetians.
The new government's political approaches will surely give results, Alasania told journalists on Friday.
"Our ill-wishers have always tried to prevent substantial contacts, reconciliation and restoration of confidence between the sides. This problem has remained for 20 years and I am sure that the policy we have chosen - the policy of restoring human relations and national diplomacy - is the foundation on which the political regulation should be based, and neither Russia nor anyone else can prevent it," Alasania said.
During an interview to Georgian Rustavi-2 channel the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev invited the leadership of Georgia to begin a direct dialogue with Abkhazians and Ossetians.
