Georgian service for emergency situations - 112 released a statement on its Facebook page in relation to the impending worsening of the weather.

"The Georgian weather forecasters predict a sharp worsening of the weather in the second half of September 4 till September 6. During this period, the 112 department will work in an emergency mode, for the dispatcher service to operatively receive and dispatch the incoming calls," the statement said.

Because of the cyclone coming from Black Sea a sharp worsening of the weather from September 4 is expected in Georgia, a joint statement of Georgian Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection and the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, said.

According to these ministries, from the second half of September 4 a cyclone and related cold and moist air masses, from Baltic Sea will spread in Georgia from the direction of the Black Sea.

According to weather forecasters, heavy rains and winds are expected.

"The cyclone will cause strong winds in the western direction, a sharp decrease in temperature and heavy rains," the statement said.

According to the statement the cyclone will also cause very heavy rains in western Georgia, sometimes there will be hails, and heavy sea swells, it is expected that the water level in some rivers will significantly increase.

Bad weather condition will continue in Georgia till late evening on September 5.

The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia urged all municipalities to take maximum security measures; all local resources were mobilized to meet the bad weather.

The ministries note that, in case of necessity they will switch to emergency mode.
