The special representative of the Georgian Prime Minister on Russian-Georgian relations Zurab Abashidze, will meet with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin at the end of next week.
The main topic of the meeting will be the freeing up of the visa system, activation of transport relations and arrangements of regular flights, Abashidze told journalists on Friday.
According to him, there will also be a preliminary discussion of the issues which are planned to be discussed in an enlarged format in the future.
The meeting between Abashidze and Karasin will be held in Prague.
Large scale military action was launched in South Ossetia on August 8, 2008. Later, Russian troops occupied Tskhinvali and expelled the Georgian military.
Russia recognised the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia in late August. In response, Tbilisi ended diplomatic relations with Moscow and has called the two unrecognised republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia occupied territories.
