Twelve pretenders to the post of Georgian president dropped out of presidential race. They failed to submit the required 26 530 signatures of their supporters for registration, Georgian CEC told Trend on Tuesday.
The time given to the presidential candidates to submit the signatures of their supporters to the Central Election Commission expired on Tuesday, 17 September, at 18:00.
CEC has already refused to register 16 more pretenders.
CEC has already registered 12 presidential candidates and 24 more applications will be viewed till September 27.
Presidential elections in Georgia will be held on October 27.
