Georgia's foreign trade turnover in January-August 2013 amounted to $6.640 billion, that is one percent lower than during the same period of 2012.
As Gruzstat (The National Statistics Office of Georgia) reported on Tuesday, Georgian exports for the period amounted to $1.761 billion, or 14 percent higher than in 2012.
For the reporting period, Georgian imports reached $4.879 billion, or four percent lower than last year.
According to Gruzstat data, the amount of negative trade balance of Georgia stood at $3.119 billion, accounting for 47 percent of the total foreign trade turnover of the country.
