Georgia, Tbilisi, September 27/Trend, N. Kirtzkhalia/
Adoption of a law on military and dual-use products will allow Georgia to establish sovereign control on the movement of this kind of products on its border, Georgia's Defense Minister Irakli Alasania told journalists on Friday.
According to him, by tightening control over such products, Georgia implements its obligations before NATO under the annual cooperation program, as well as the resolution of UN Security Council.
"The bill was adopted at the first reading and it will be approved in the near future. This will be an important step on the way of rapprochement with the European Union and NATO. The list of these goods will be prepared again, and it will include all of the products that have not been included on this list so far, " Alasania said.
According to the minister, after the law is adopted, its actual implementation which will be assisted by experts from Europe and the USA will help Georgia.
