Over six months - from January to June, 2013 - the patrol police of Georgia issued fines totalling 31,106,828 laris ($1 = 1.66 lari), Institute for Information Freedom Development reported on Friday with reference to Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The statistics for the same periods of 2011 and 2012 are as follows: 21,134,952 laris and 18,276,641 laris.
This means this year fines increased by 47.2 percent compared to the first half of 2011, and by 70 percent compared to the same period of 2012.
