Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili has asked the EU to clearly define its principal position in connection with the fact that it is unacceptable to belittle the Geneva talks as a result of attempts to change the existing format, Ivanishvili said at a meeting with members of the EU Council's Political and Security Committee.
The Prime Minister said he wants to appeal on behalf of Georgian government to the European Union for an appropriate response to the alarming situation along the administrative line of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali regions, in order to urge Russia to immediately stop these illegal actions.
"Alongside with this, we ask to call Russia to show constructiveness in connection with the obligations on the non-use of force, to promote the efficient functioning of the EU monitoring mission, really use resources at its disposal for the safe and dignified return of refugees to their homes," Georgian PM said.
